- If we say we are done with a conversation, we are done. This does not mean we don't like you, it again just means we lack the energy.
FAQ
Q- What should I call you collectively or if I'm unsure who is who?
A- We use the name "Sunbeam" as a whole, and feel most comfy being referred to as alters and headmates!
Q- What are your triggers?
A- While this may be said with good intentions, for privacy and safety we keep this private. If we trust you, we will tell you, but you should not ask for them first.
Q- How can you tell who is who with no amnesia?
A- Internally, all of us have different voices. However, since there is no amnesia it is very easy for us to blend and become mixed up. It's a process.
Q- Who's the real one? / Who's the original?
A- None. Due to trauma, our mind fragmented itself. All of us as a whole make up the "original". We are all pieces of this whole. To say one alter is more or less important is frankly degrading, and we would appreciate you not saying that...
Q- Do you sound different / act different when fronting?
A- Yes! A few of us have slightly different accents, we carry weight differently, and our voice fluctuates to mimic our own voices as closely as our vocal chords can manage.
Q- How do you get things done? / How do you live?
A- Communication and help. We're very lucky to have a high amount of internal communication and little amnesia, but just in case we still write things out on paper, and people will give us reminders. We live just like anyone else, just with a bit more work.
